Pete Thomas on Spicks and Specks

Hey guys,
I'm at the recording of Spicks and Specks as we speak.

Pete Thomas is a guest on it this week. And he's great. (He plays a medley drum solo of a bunch of big Elvis songs as the closer.)
And he's really funny. Not sure when it goes to air... But I imagine it's soonish?

About 15 years ago or so, the artist who worked on The Amazing Spiderman AFTER Todd McFarlane (I cant remember his name), constantly drew Elvis Costello posters on Peter Parker's walls.

Elvis & co. delivering current affair soundtrack

Weird. I saw a report about corrupt police that went for about 30 mins, in which they looped instrumental segments of songs as soundtrack; including Watching the Detectives, and 2 songs off When I Was Cruel; the bonus giveaway that the soundtrack editor was an oldschool Elvis fan was his inclusion o...

I agree, i don't think there is too much to "not get" in Get Happy!
I find it much easier and enjoyable than Armed Forces..

Mr Average, I didn't bother to argue about the merit of the award, because it is so obvious it is worth nothing. Do you really care who a bunch of old people you don't know, thinks of music? I don't care what anyone thinks of music except myself. If you are not watching this awards show for the musi...

Wow. You want LESS music and MORE speeches?

That's an "interesting" (read: crap) thought.

Well, I Wanna Be Loved was filmed in Flinders St Station, Melbourne, so I am reminded of this everyday on the way to work, so that's kinda cool I guess.

Mmmm... it's interesting how people determine how good these songs are. I don't think the lyrical argument is ENTIRELY relevent...I think a lot of Jackson's songs aren't necessary created for someone to lock themselves up in a room and pore over the album booklet, looking for meaning. Those songs ar...

I couldn't agree. This is what's so interesting (and infuriating) about these lists....how do you explain one album's position against anothers... ..such as..the Beatles dominate the top 15-20....then they have albums down in the 2-300s...such as Help!.....so that means that there are plenty of rece...

Michael Jackson has influenced very few??? Elvis has influenced a lot??? Holy crap....love IS blind. I am a big Elvis fan, and not such a big Michael Jackson fan at all...in fact, I don't even own an album by him, whilst I own every EC album... but a blind man, maybe a deaf man, can hear that MJ has...

I am a huge Elvis fan, but whether you like it or not, Michael Jackson has been a more important figure in the music scene, and his best album richly deserves to be even higher....and higher than Imperial Bedroom I believe.....

Hi, Long time listener, first-time caller... Most of GCW are pretty obvious selections....but my all time classic example of this subject is It's Time on ATUB.... I saw El perform this on Letterman before I got the album and it absolutely blew me away! I couldn't wait for the album to arrive...then ...
