Re: "The Worst of Elvis Costello"
I posted this list to alt.fan-EC back in 2001; it would be a chronological one-worst-song-from-each-album mix: B&C -- Honey Are You Straight Idiot -- Stamping Ground TJL -- Swine Kojak -- Bama Lama Bama Loo ATUB -- Why Can't A Man Stand Alone As ever, argue away. Well, I wouldn't argue because ...

Re: Quiz Question Appeall!
Otis my friend, such Naiveté! People go to extraordinary limits to win these things. You can't ban people from having access to their phones for obvious reasons..."my babysitter may need to get hold of me" or "my testes felt loose this morning and may drop off at any second" etc....

Re: "The Worst of Elvis Costello"
It's bland Elvis I don't care for. When he's being daring, I could forgive him anything.
I've never really liked Playboy to a Man, Pads Paws and Claws and Broken (all collaborations interestingly.....but most of the other stuff is cool by me.

Re: EC's Discography: Top to Bottom
Fair point my friend. For me personally, it's not that I dislike the album, I just haven't ever really given it a 3rd or 4th go - something I did do with every other EC album that didn't hit me straight away. I shall give it a spin this afternoon!

Quiz Question Appeall!
I have been asked to host our local village quiz at the end of the month. Now, I have become depressed by the fact that modern mobile internet technology has made cheating at these things just too easy. It may not be possible to eliminate cheating completely, but I'd like to make it bloody difficult...

Re: EC's Discography: Top to Bottom
Wardo and I have similar taste. Amazed to see Trust so far down so many lists. His most underrated for me and I could easily have any of my top 4 at number one on any given day. 1. Imperial Bedroom 2. Get Happy!! 3. King of America 4. Trust 5. This Year's Model 6. Blood & Chocolate 7. North 8. A...

Re: Michael Jackson RIP
You don't have to be a fan of MJ's to know he was a musical genius. I will even be so bold as to say he was on the same par, in some respects, as John Lennon. Oh come on now. Musical genius?? Comparison to John Lennon??? No. I'd allow dancing genius, or choreographer genius, performance genius, but...

Re: What are you listening to right now?
Long standing EC board members will know that I have been a big Squeeze and Tilbrook/Difford fan for many years. I loved the 1st 2 Tilbrook albums and was very much looking forward to the first GT album with his own band. Truth be told, I was just a little disappointed with the Fluffers album. It ha...

I bought Solid Air for the first time a few months back and my interest in JM has snowballed from there. I cannot believe that I am only just discovering this superbly talented artist. I've just ordered the Munro biography and am awaiting a delivery from Amazon of 'Grace and Danger' and 'One World',...

Re: What are you listening to right now?
Grand Prix is easily the most accessible and immediate of their albums which is probably why it hit you quicker. SFNB is also fantastic though However, Bandwagonesque from 1991 is my favourite TF record and an essential purchase. An underrated gem of a record which is classic nineties without soundi...

No. I agree it's not bad. I'm just surprised that you can reach billboard number 13 in the US with those figures.
I confess that I have stopped paying much attention to charts over the years.
