Re: Elvis & The Sugarcanes, Glasgow (UK), July 2, 2010

People always video the same damn songs! I want to see Spell That You Cast or Blame It On Cain, not 900 versions of Alison!

Re: New Album(s) Being Recorded in Nashville

EC said at the Liverpool show 'That's a song that'll be on my next album, which is on it's way' after they played it.

Re: New Album(s) Being Recorded in Nashville

I don't remember the last time I was this excited for a new album from someone - especially now knowing that I LOST YOU will be on the new record. I think SLOW DRAG WITH JOSEPHINE and JIMMIE STANDING IN THE RAIN are two of the best tunes he's written, or a least the hookiest (I've played bootlegs of...

Re: When was your first Elvis gig?

I appear to have come rather late to the party, as my first EC gig was October 15 last year. I've made up for lost time with three since then.

Re: Elvis & The Sugarcanes, Liverpool (UK), June 28, 2010

I thought that was staged, you handing him a piece of paper, did he really play that off the cuff? Hell no, it wasn't staged! I almost wrote out 'Pads, Paws and Claws' instead, but I figured I should go with one I knew the band had played before. I was so thrilled when they played it - I've been pl...

Re: Elvis & The Sugarcanes, London (UK), June 27, 2010

So what did we all think? Apart from the weird atmosphere engendered by half the crowd watching a bloody football game on the big screens, I loved it. It's my first Sugarcanes experience and it occurred to me afterward they didn't actually do anything from the record. But I was very happy with what ...

Holy Jesus Christ! That was something else... Hope someone taped it. Re: EC in London (Meltdown Festival), June 20

Enjoyed two of the Meltdown gigs already. 1. ISIHAC taping - great fun, with Jeremy Hardy as the 4th team member and Rob Brydon as host. I got to perform a solo kazoo version of Bohemian Rhapsody, which really made me appreciate how good the acoustics are. 2. RICHARD THOMPSON'S 1000 YEARS OF POPULAR...

PAUL McCARTNEY
CROSBY STILLS + NASH
CROWDED HOUSE
ELVIS COSTELLO & THE SUGARCANES

How's that for a day of music! This means I'm now seeing EC three times in my London trip - twice with the 'canes. I'll have had to make an 'ALL HAIL LAUDERDALE' sign to hold up at Hyde Park.
