Got my tickets in the mail for the Oriental Theater show last Thursday!!! They still say March 1, so I assume they were printed before they changed the date. Did everyone else get their tickets for the Chicago show?

I wa just looking through the DishNetwork guide and saw that Squeeze has a 1/2 hour show... I think most of them are 1 hour. My bet is that the do not reunite... Just a gut feeling.

Squeeze on VH1 Bands Reunited

Squeeze will be on VH1 Bands Reunited this Friday night. (9PM Central time, Jan 30th) I have never seen the show, but according to a friend of mine, it is a one hour show were the bands have a choice to reunite to play a few songs or not. Some times they get back together, some times they do not. He...

Rediscovering Songs

I find myself from time to time, rediscovering different songs from older Costello albums, or seeing them in an entirely different light. A few weeks ago, I rediscovered a bunch of stuff that I overlooked on B&C, and before that, Spike and MLAR. I thought I would share this week’s rediscovery wi...

Since my Brewers were eliminated the first week of the season, I am pulling for the neighbors to the south, the Cubbies. I would like to see the Red Sox and Cubs in the series. Fox would like that for the ratings. If those two teams meet, the series would have to go 7 games, as each team would find ...

I graduated from High school the year that MAIT came out, but I don't think I heard anything on it until 1978. Now I am all grown up, at 44.

I am impressed that there are some younger people out there on the board. I just assumed that the "crowd" would be older on this board.

I just heard an ad on WMMM, a radio station out of Madison, Wisconsin, that they will be playing Live By Request on the RADIO this Saturday night! The ad was saying that if you missed it on TV, listen to it on the radio. Here is a link to their page. http://www.1055triplem.com/ No listen live though...

My impression of EC's Live by Request show: Wow! I found myself standing up and clapping after some of the song! I saw this show on Thursday night, and went to the Springsteen concert at Miller Park on Saturday night. In the middle of some Springsteen song that I had never heard before, I was thinki...

A Few Random Questions

A friend of mine was doing a Grateful Dead quiz about a month ago and one of the questions was "Which of the following artist have covered a Grateful Dead song?" One of the options was Elvis Costello... I knew that two of the other artists had covered the Dead, so had him answer All of the...

Good article.

It does have a flaw in it though. At one point, it says that EC was a computer programmer. Later in the article, it correctly says that EC was a computer operator. There is a big difference in the two jobs.

I was wondering the same thing. I pre-ordered it from Amazon along with Trust based on this: TowerRecords.com has it listed the same way as Amazon, as Limited Edition. In Tower's descriprion, they said that it came with the DVD. So, I assumed that Amazon does have the DVD. Amazon had the lowest pric...

I have always looked at Welcome to the Working Week as Elvis welcoming us to his album and his career. This song is a straight forward rockin little tune that sometimes requires repeating on the CD player because it is over so fast! Why why, why, why! A fitting song for the first song many of us hea...

Thanks for the update on the Springsteen show. I am going to see him on the 27th at Miller Park. I hope that he will do something by Zevon in Milwaukee. Accidentally Like a Martyr would be my choice for the Boss. Speaking of Zevon, I will be watching a tribute to him on VH1 in a few minutes. A frien...

I always thought that Elvis was singing "Never go further than far to far" in Living in Paradise.

I was disappointed to find out that it is "never go further than floor to floor."

Long time Costello fan, first time poster. After listening to North about 3 times, I must say that I am impressed. When It Sings has a line in it that I think is GREAT! "...like tears of stone, falling from his statue." A classic EC type line. I don't remember hearing the sound of a guitar...
